Down To Earth was gifted Tierra Del Sol Golf & Country Club in November 2014. This facility, along with two other championship courses including The Villages’ signature facility, Palmer Legends, were turned over to us without a bid process due to the outstanding work that we have exhibited throughout the years. With the addition of these three championship courses, Down To Earth currently maintains more holes in The Villages than any other golf maintenance company.
One of the most challenging 18 holes in The Villages, this course plays to over 6,800 yards. It also has the distinct honor of having hosted the Samsung World Championship of Women’s Golf, featuring the top 16 women golfers in the world, and the $1 million Villages Charity Challenge Tournament featuring LPGA tour players including Nancy Lopez, Julie Inkster, Helen Alfredson, Mi Hyun Kim, Betsy King and Brandie Burton.
The front nine is long and well-bunkered with very few trees. The back nine was designed to preserve the natural beauty and wildlife of the nature preserves that come into play on eight holes. Majestic oak trees line five holes. Large bunkers and large, well-contoured greens add a finishing touch to this course.
